Fat freeze is a non-invasive treatment used to reduce unwanted fat by using near sub-zero temperatures to kill the fat cells without damaging the surrounding tissues and nerves.
The fat freeze handle is applied to the treatment area targeted for fat loss. It uses advanced cooling technology to selectively target and freeze fat cells. This procedure is known as apoptosis, which is controlled cell death that is gradually eliminated from the body through the body's natural waste disposal. When fat cells are cooled below body temperature, the freezing causes the fat cells to die, which is followed by a local inflammatory response. When fat cells are exposed to extreme cold conditions, the body's normal response is to restrict circulation to keep the core of the body at the proper temperature. Fat freeze adds to the inflammatory response by drawing blood up to the surface layers of the skin, killing the cells.
Clients remain comfortable throughout the procedure and can return to work immediately after fat freezing. The procedure is completely safe and non-invasive, and there is no downtime following the treatment.
Fat freezing has the advantage of not requiring a course of treatment for most people in most areas. It is possible to repeat fat freezing in the same area depending on the thickness of the fat and the client's personal goals, but it is not always necessary. If you choose to have a second treatment in the same area, the preferred time between sessions is approximately 4 to 5 weeks to allow enough time to measure the effectiveness of the initial treatment. Clinical trial data has shown that for most people, a second treatment within four to five weeks of the first does result in greater fat reduction.
The fat will gradually leave the body through the lymphatic system, which can take up to four to five weeks. The results will not be visible immediately because the body must work to remove the frozen fat.
A typical treatment takes 25 minutes maximum per area. We advise clients to wait four to five weeks before the second session to ensure they see the results of the first session and the body has time to remove the frozen fat cells.
One 25-minute session is expected to result in a 26% reduction in body fat.

As a completely non-invasive procedure, fat freezing provides many benefits over other fat reduction procedures.
Some of these benefits include:
No incisions
No pain
No anaesthetic required
No downtime
Temporary swelling
Temporary erythema
Reddening of the skin that can take a few hours to a few days to subside
Temporary bruising to the skin which can take three weeks
A temporary darling sensation to the frozen area which will subside within three weeks
Some patients may feel pain within the area, and this will subside within three weeks
Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia
Burning of the skin
There are no supplements or diet plans required, and you do not need to change your exercise habits. However, fat freeze is not a substitute for taking care of your body, and you should follow the simple aftercare advice. You may feel more motivated to take care of yourself after the treatment, after all, it's an investment, and combining fat freeze with a healthy diet and lifestyle will only further maximise your results. Aftercare advice is to drink more water and avoid caffeine and other toxins to help your body's natural healing process.
